Why does it always rain on me? 2010, oil and broken mirror pieces on canvas (122 x 76.2cm) £400
Artist comment: ‘Why does it always rain on me?’ represents those moments when we feel as if our problems are consuming our lives. The dagger like mirror pieces represent the pressures, responsibilities and worries that we feel drag us down. These daggers try to tear through the protective shield of the umbrella, which we build around ourselves in times of stress only to bounce off and fade to glistening diamond like speckles signifying the notion that there is always a ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. |
