East London Fine Art
Leila Bibizadeh is of dual heritage – English, and Iranian. She is an artist from London who graduated from The University of East London with a degree in Fine Art in 2008. Leila specialises in animal portraiture, she has a great passion for realism art and spends many hours capturing the beautiful and intricate details of her chosen subject. Her inspiration from the Natural world is endless and she also enjoys painting animals and portraying nature in more contemporary styles. These contemporary styles can range from a vibrant abstract painting, which is infused with a dramatic explosion of colour and an array of unique shapes, to simply using only black and white to portray an animal in a more haunting manner, as if to capture its spirit. In addition to this, broken mirror pieces are incorporated within these black and white paintings to symbolise reflection, in the hope of encouraging people to reflect upon important issues associated with the animal.
In 2010 Leila was short-listed for the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition as a finalist for the ‘Visions of Nature’ category. In 2011 she proceeded to have her work short-listed and selected for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Exhibition, which was held at the Mall Galleries. Most recently she was selected as one of eighteen artists to exhibit their work in one of the window boxes at the O2 Arena, where Leila showed a collection of her animal portraits for two weeks during February 2012. Other past exhibitions include the prestigious Saatchi Gallery and Bankside Gallery. |
