The Art of Our Emotions

The Art of Our Emotions is as exploration of raw human emotion as I grab hold of feelings that we all experience at some point in our lives and I paint it on canvas.  I express these emotions through distorted figures that never have facial features so that the viewers can visualise themselves.  I use mirror pieces to symbolise reflection and the ability to look back at life, but also to entice the viewer because when he/she looks into the mirror they see an image of themselves on the canvas, suddenly they have become part of the painting and can instantly relate to it.  Thus the viewer is encouraged to reflect upon their life and can think about being in that situation.  Above all, the glistening diamond like mirror pieces also add another visual dimension to the painting, because light is reflected and bounces off of them as if it is dancing around the canvas, changing the paintings appearance constantly.
