"Photography can be used to captivate people, and change their feelings. For a photo to achieve this level of criticism it needs to be of the highest quality. When I take a photo of an animal or landscape, I always try to wait until a moment comes when I feel there will be something special and unique about the photo. I believe that to capture something special in an animal, it is necessary to get up close to them. I take every opportunity to photograph something unusual, and I believe that my photos capture an almost human aspect of an animal’s characteristics. I strongly believe in animal conservation, and I feel that photography can be used to help heighten awareness about the importance of preserving both our planet’s wildlife and environment."

Roxanne Ellen Bibizadeh benefits from traversing the boundaries of the east and west, being a mixed race ‘other’, of dual heritage – English, and Iranian. She is a writer from London who graduated from The University of Warwick with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing in 2006, and a Masters in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmiths University London in 2008. Currently, Roxanne is working in education, and researching representations of Islam in modern Middle Eastern literature and British fiction. She is interested in multiracial relations and experiences in Britain, and has written short stories and a novella on the London underground bombings. At present Roxanne is writing her first novel, which deals with racial diversity in London. The novel is based on a short story entitled ‘The Bride of Death’. |
